Westchester County Police received a report of a Toyota Scion which was traveling on Kisco Avenue at approximately 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, striking a parked car and a lamppost before coming to a rest against a tree near Hillside Avenue.

Police said that witnesses told responding officers that the driver was spotted hopping out of the car and running off on foot.

According to police, officer Brian Tierney and tracking canine Genny responded to the scene and began tracking the suspect. The track took the investigators across West Main Street, to Manchester Drive and to the backyard of a Maple Avenue home where the driver was taken into custody.

Mount Kisco resident Stefan Austin, 23, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. He was taken to the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash.

No return court date for Austin has been announced.
